Debt for the Bridge

I followed the rules of solvency from the basic course on finance. 1. make a lot of money. 2. spend less than you make 3. make it before you have to spend it. 4. bit by bit gather a cushion of reserves. 5. keep credit excellent as a second cushion. 6. refuse to fall back on reserves. 7. make financial planning a one man job. Ok, back in 2004 I was working for a WISE company and making squat. We never spent less because the orgs are a reg-fest. Imagine if you are there either 5 nights a week or on the weekends for 8 hourse each day, you are always available for regging! not to mention when you finish a course you have to see the IAS reg PLUS the regular reg. In my experience THERE WERE NO RESERVES because we spent more than we made! We were told, "just postulate that you will pull the money in for it before the bill comes in." So we would use the credit card. Right before I got divorced it was as high as $65,000!!! Keep credit excellent? If excellent means keep using it and use all of it then we rocked on that point. However, it doesn't mean that. We did keep our bills paid. As long as we could dodge the money hungry, ideal org selling, basic package crush selling staff! #6 above was easy - nothing to fall back on. #7 was a four man job. It was done with Me, Tina Pace (ex-wife), Ken Thomas (DIV2 Reg) and Mike (DIV 2 reg). Occasionally we received "advice" from flag rep Jessica or new OT VIII Lynn Irons. My advice to you if you are interested in going up the bridge, use the 7 points above and find out if they work or not. If they do, use them. If others try to sway you off of that for their own personal gain, show them the points and tell them it would be breaking a personal policy and you don't do that. Ask them if they would want others to do that to them.
